Mark Simon spent his spare time protesting the Vietnam War in middle school. He moved from New York to Los Angeles in 1980 to pursue his acting career. Ultimately, Mark settled in Los Feliz in 1992 where he lived for 23 years in a close knit community of friends - many of whom were gay men involved in HIV/AIDS activism and the gay rights movement. Mark and others organized tenants to start the Los Angeles Tenants Union. Mark continues to engage in housing activism today.
